It is with sincere regret that the Committee has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Veterans Week of Golf (WOG). This decision has not been made lightly. The extended period of wet weather has left the course in very poor condition, and despite our best efforts, there is no indication it will recover sufficiently before the event. The course remains heavy underfoot, several areas have suffered damage, and even minimal rainfall continues to prevent golf carts from accessing the course proper. A key factor in our decision is the strong likelihood that golf carts will not be permitted. Many visiting players rely on carts, and without them, a significant number would be unable to participate safely or comfortably. We also recognise that many of you travel considerable distances and have already made accommodation and travel arrangements. Rather than leave you facing ongoing uncertainty or last‑minute disruption, we felt it was important to make a timely and clear decision.
