TREASURERS REPORT 2024

 

Good afternoon everyone, it is with pleasure that I now present this year’s financial report. Before getting into the numbers, I would just like to thank all of you for the ongoing support you give us through participation in our own competition on a Monday now the Mystery 9, and the 100 club.  A big thank you to all my fellow committee members for their hard work during the year and Terry Mitchell-Smith for your ongoing work with the 100 club. The Pro-shop for their help generally every week and extra help whenever we run Stabrose type events and during our Open Day and Week of Golf. Club Management for their generosity in their dealings with the Vets, our NTP sponsors, Wenban Chiropractic, McGrath Real Estate, Wallace & Co., McInnes Legal, and our 9-hole comp. sponsors – Ballina Fair Cinemas, The Bottle Shop East Ballina, Ballina Tenpin Bowl, and of course as always, a special mention to our sunshine girls for their ongoing hard work during our special event days.

 

Our bank balances currently stand at $35,618 of which $7,665 represents Nomination Fees paid in advance for our upcoming Week of Golf in July. So, our net member funds are about $27,950 which is about $8,000 higher than last year and as mentioned last year, very, very healthy.

 

Since the 1st June last year, our NET income generation (after netting off applicable expenses) includes the following:

  • $400 from 100 club (which is more than double what was generated last year)
  • $250 from sponsors
  • $2,115 from Membership fees (after paying half to the NRVGA)
  • $200 from Bank Interest
  • $900 from sale of shirts
  • $2,400 (approx. as yet to be finalised) from our Open Day last Monday
  • $8,126 from the Week of Golf last year

 

The major expense items to benefit from this revenue were the Christmas Vouchers which cost $5,545 and Member Lunches of $638.

 

The coming year looks promising with prepaid WOG nominations filtering in, so hopefully we will see a good financial result after July’s event.

 

We are always open to suggestions from members as to how we might improve the way our competitions are run, so if you have any suggestions, please let us know.

 

I will now table this Annual Financial Report and advise all members, that this report as well as all other monthly financial statements tabled at monthly committee meetings are available to any member, should they require a copy.

 

This is my last report as the Vets Treasurer, and I would just like to thank James Buckett for putting his hand up to take over the Treasurer’s role for the coming year.
